Vinted Shopping: The Wedding Part 3
So the wedding has been and gone and it was great fun! I have been a little bad in not writing about it though, so this is a catch up post. Last year was not great health wise. It just niggled and I spent a lot of it not feeling great and so exercising less etc. While I didn't gain weight, I certainly did not lose the weight I gained on our April holiday to Italy. Not gaining though is a win. I am still 5.5 stone lighter than I was.
This weight gain meant though that the scuba dress was out. Its a beautiful dress and I will wear it but I need to loss a little weight first. Again. So this left me with the purple poncho and the lovely black chiffon overlay trousers... and not much else.
I continued hunting for navy blue dresses. In a mad moment I brought a Coast dress on the off chance it would work with very little idea about how the dress actually was. The seller obviously just wanted it gone because the photos made it impossible to tell anything much. It was a very pleasant surprise though when I received it.
The dress is polyester, like so many affordable clothes these days, but it has been crafted into the finest silkiest material which drapes rather than clings, which was a huge plus. The skirt was quite full, long and lined but because it draped, it nicely disguised the weird shape my derriere currently has. The skirt came up to a high beaded waist band, which was also great, because I have a waist. It was not too ornate to go with the poncho either as it was a small area and all in navy.
At the top, the dress came to a matching bead embellished collar which did up at the back and there was a zip below. The top consisted of two parts, a sleeveless, shoulderless bodice and a shawl with cold shoulders with both connecting to the collar. The shawl came to a V that hangs down over my chest and the parts that draped over the arms acted as sleeves and hid my upper arms.
So despite just looking like a piece of fabric just hanging down from a hanger, the dress was absolutely great and I wore it to the wedding with the purple poncho. I will sell it on at some point but I won't until it is too big. I have no idea what event could crop up that would require such a lovely dress. I don't know that I would wear it to another wedding even. Not that there are any coming up that I know of.
This left the second day with the black chiffon overlay trousers. I have a silky black cami that would be fine under something else and I decided to look for something to go over the top. Eventually I found a bolero jacket by Tia. It was black with a white and hot pink abstract design. It definitely stopped an all back outfit from looking funeral - like!
So after months of hunting, I finally had two outfits that I was happy about! *happy dance*
All done, right? nope... I forgot a few things...
