Vinted Shopping (partly): The Wedding Part 4

I now how my outfits for both days but although I had underthings I could wear, it was clear they wear a bad choice.  I needed a little more help and support and smoothing.  Not too much though as I wanted to be able to move and breathe and eat.

I needed a multiway bra for the navy dress as bra straps would be visible at the front, although largely hidden at the back.  I decided that a multiway would work because I could cross the straps over at the front.  I knew what size to buy, in theory.  When they came they were horrendously huge.  I sent them back and ordered the two different smaller sizes...  Luckily one of them did fit OK, because time was very short by this point.  They came as a two pack so I wore the nude one with the navy dress and the black with the black cami and bolero.

I ordered shapewear for my lower half and it wasn't too bad.  I am sure there were sets that would have smoothed and supported more, but I think it's a compromise with eating and moving.

This just left tights, because I realised I did not want bare legs.  My legs are pasty white for a start and having tights would just make everything look nicer and more even.  More importantly though, I get cold.  I ordered from Snag tights who do a huge range of sizes.  There are tights are so lovely and fit so well, despite my size, that I wear them regularly now and intend to buy more.

I know none of this is Vinted, but I just can not bring myself to buy underwear from Vinted.  They only allow you to sell completely new underwear really, but still....  I think I will continue to buy new and then wear it to death lol.

Shoes are also always an issue.  I have very wide feet and often end up wearing size 9 shoes.  The problem is that my feet are perhaps not quite as long as a standard size 9 and I also have a very high instep, so some shoes are just too tight over the top.  I realised I would need to buy new and luckily there are now online shops that do extra wide shoes.  I never used to have many options growing up and often had mens shoes for school.

I had had a realisation though, I just wouldn't be able to wear heels as expected.  I had some issues with my leg last year and my ankles are swollen at the best of times.  It was just going to be a very silly idea.  So I decided on slip on flats.  I found a navy and a black pair and they fit but were a little too long.  I ended up getting insoles and heal grips to help.  The black ones were better, because they had elastic crossing over the top which kept my foot in position better.  The navy ones were a little sloppy to walk in at times, but I danced the night away quite happily.

So very shortly before the wedding, I realised I could really do with bags as I would want to carry my phone etc.  So onto Vinted I went and there was so many bags to choose from.  I brought three.  A Navy blue Koko bag for day one, a bright pink Julien MacDonald bag for day two and a black Julien MacDonald bag in case the pink didn't work.  The pink went great though and it's a lovely bag.  I think you have to watch for damaged bags though!  Day to day I don't mind a scuff or two on a bargain but for this wedding, nope...

Jewellery was easy as I make jewellery so could match the colours and styles to the outfits as required.  And that was it, done.

I looked OK.  I looked like I had made an effort and done the best I could to look as good as I could with my figure.  I didn't look or feel like I was wearing secondhand clothes.  In fact, I felt like I looked like I had spent a lot of money on clothes for the wedding.  The Coast dress, Jayley Poncho, Joanna Hope trousers and Tia bolero jacket would have all been expensive new.

I am so glad I gave myself time to hunt down an outfit.  My husband went to the suit shop, tried on the one he liked and looked great.  His measurements were taken and a couple of days before we travelled we went and picked it up.  Very easy.  I wish it was so easy for me!
